नेपाली मेकअप आर्टिस्ट तथा सौन्दर्य व्यवसायी लेमी तामाङ विश्वकै प्रतिष्ठित फेसन प्लेटफर्म ‘पेरिस फेसन विक’ मा पुगेकी छन्। १३ वर्षभन्दा लामो अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय अनुभव बोकेकी उनले सेप्टेम्बर २८ देखि अक्टोबर ६ सम्म फ्रान्सको राजधानी पेरिसमा भएको फेसन विकमा मेकअप आर्टिस्टका रूपमा काम गरिन्।
उनी पेरिस फेसन विकमा सहभागी हुने पहिलो नेपाली मेकअप आर्टिस्ट बनेको बताइएको छ। उनले यो समयलाई आफ्नो जीवनकै सबैभन्दा सुन्दर क्षणमध्ये एक भनेकी छन्। पर्दापछाडिको व्यस्तता र मुस्किलले निद्रा पुग्ने दिनचर्याबीच पनि आफ्नो सपना बाँचिरहेको अनुभूति भएको र खुसीले आकाशमा उडेजस्तो लागेको उनले सुनाएकी छन्।
सानै उमेरदेखि कला र मेकअपमा रुचि राखेकी लेमीले करिअर नेपालबाटै सुरु गरेकी हुन्। पछि भारतको मुम्बई पुगेर केही वर्ष सौन्दर्य र फेसन उद्योगमा काम गरिन्, जहाँ बलिउड अभिनेत्री दिशा पटानीको मेकअप पनि गरेकी थिइन्। मुम्बईपछि उनको यात्रा दुबई हुँदै अमेरिकाको न्यूयोर्कसम्म पुग्यो।
सन् २०२१ मा उनले आफ्नै मेकअप ब्रान्ड ‘प्यास्टेल ब्युटी’ सुरु गरेर व्यवसाय विस्तार गरिन्। यसका उत्पादन मुख्यतः कोरियामा बन्छन्। सन् २०२५ मा उनले जेनजी पुस्ताका नेपाली उपभोक्तालाई लक्षित गरी ‘बिसु ब्युटी’ ब्रान्ड पनि ल्याएकी छन्।
बेलायतकी चर्चित मेकअप आर्टिस्ट प्याट म्याकग्राथलाई प्रेरणाको स्रोत मान्ने लेमीले भारतको फेसन पत्रिका ‘हार्पर्स बजार’ र इटालीको मिलानमा सुपरमोडलहरूसँग काम गरिसकेकी छन्। ‘आइईसी स्कुल अफ आर्ट एन्ड फेसन’ मा फेसन डिजाइन पढेकी उनले नेपालमा नियमित मेकअप कक्षा पनि सञ्चालन गर्दै आएकी छन्।
Nepali makeup artist and beauty entrepreneur Lemi Tamang has made it to Paris Fashion Week, one of the world's most prestigious fashion platforms. With over 13 years of international experience, she worked as a makeup artist at the fashion week held in the French capital from September 28 to October 6.
She is reported to be the first Nepali makeup artist to take part in Paris Fashion Week. She called it one of the most beautiful times of her life. Despite the hectic backstage atmosphere and days with barely any sleep, she said she felt she was living her dream, and was so happy it felt like flying in the sky.
Interested in art and makeup from a young age, Lemi began her career in Nepal. She later moved to Mumbai, India, and worked in the beauty and fashion industry for several years, where she also did makeup for Bollywood actress Disha Patani. After Mumbai, her journey took her through Dubai to New York in the United States.
In 2021, she expanded her business with her own makeup brand, 'Pastel Beauty', whose products are mainly made in Korea. In 2025, she also launched 'Bisu Beauty', aimed at Gen Z Nepali consumers.
Naming British makeup artist Pat McGrath as her inspiration, Lemi has worked with the Indian fashion magazine 'Harper's Bazaar' and with supermodels in Milan, Italy. She studied fashion design at the IEC School of Art and Fashion and regularly runs makeup classes in Nepal.
